Meet Rachel

Rachel’s endless curiosity and thirst for adventure have carried her across the globe—from the remote beaches of Bali and Australia to the historic streets of Europe, the vibrant energy of Southeast Asia, and the sun-drenched coastlines of Greece and Mexico. Each journey has enriched her life and uniquely shaped her design perspective, infusing her work with a deep appreciation for art, culture, and craftsmanship.

A true California native, Rachel spent many years living between Northern and Southern California before settling in Santa Barbara in 2014. From 2020 to 2022, she and her family had the unique opportunity to live abroad in Sayulita, Mexico, an experience that further enriched her global perspective. She now resides in Santa Ynez. Rachel earned her B.A. in Interior Design from California State University, Chico, and holds a minor in Spanish from El Universidad del País Vasco in San Sebastián, Spain.

With over 25 years of experience, Rachel works with a wide range of clients and project scopes. She is passionate about creating thoughtful, beautiful interiors that reflect her clients’ lifestyles and honor the architectural integrity of each home. Known for her attention to detail and intuitive understanding of client needs, she brings a refined yet grounded approach to every project. 

Before launching RWI, Rachel held senior design, leadership, and sales roles within high-end design retailers. These experiences honed her strengths in client service, project management, and the seamless coordination required to bring sophisticated spaces to life.

In addition to her client work, Rachel is a Senior FF&E Designer for Jessica Risko Smith Interior Design. Most recently Rachel worked with Jessica on her Oxnard Shores, Upper East, Islay , Hidden Hills and East Valley Exterior projects.
